Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant for daily supply roles around Watford. You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with a range of SEND, working closely with teachers to implement individual learning plans and promote inclusion within classrooms.

Ideal candidates will have experience with SEND, EHCP awareness, and a calm, patient approach. DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in school or care settings.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with individual pupils.
• Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for diverse needs.
• Desirable Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND across different school settings.
• Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.
• Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing social and emotional skills.
• Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in the classroom.
• Assist with personal care and mobility where required.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and assessments.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs.
