Job summary

South Gosforth First School is seeking a Level 3 (N4) One-to-One Support Teaching Assistant for a part-time post to assist a pupil with SEND. The 20-hour week runs term-time only, with duties including classroom support, small-group work, and administrative tasks, under the guidance of the class teacher.

The successful applicant will be NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) with KS2 experience, strong communication, and a collaborative approach to teaching and safeguarding within our dedicated

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification
• Experience of effectively supporting pupils in a KS2 learning environment
• Experience of classroom organisation
• Experience of administrative and clerical duties in a school environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Evidence of working as a successful member of a large team
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise and manage time effectively
• First Aid Training
• Evidence of effective working with children in a 1-1 role or small group

Responsibilities

• Supporting the teacher in the general management of the classroom.
• Undertaking activities with individuals or small groups of pupils.
• Providing clerical and administrative support, e.g. preparing worksheets.
• Supervising groups of pupils and providing safeguarding support.
• Undertaking routine invigilation and marking.
