Job summary

Quantum Scholars in Wokingham is seeking a confident SEND/SEMH tutor to provide 1:1 tuition across English, Maths and Science for learners accessing EOTAS. Sessions are term-time only and delivery during normal school hours.

You will work with learners who may be outside mainstream education, building positive relationships, adapting lessons to individual needs, and reporting on progress. DBS and right to work in the UK required; travel to learners across Wokingham as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND/SEMH is essential.
• Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or learning support is desirable.
• Confident teaching English, Maths and Science.
• Patient, calm and adaptable with good communication.
• QTS/QTLS or relevant tutoring experience is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS required or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Ability to travel to learners across Wokingham and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tuition across English, Maths and Science.
• Support learners accessing EOTAS/AP provision.
• Work with learners who may have SEND/SEMH needs (anxiety, behavioural challenges, ADHD, autism).
• Build positive relationships with learners.
• Adapt lessons to individual needs and re-engage learners with education.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback on engagement and development.
• Collaborate with Quantum Scholars and relevant professionals to ensure appropriate support.
