Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking patient, experienced SEND/SEMH tutors to work in-person with children and young people in Wokingham. You will deliver one-to-one or small-group tuition, adapt activities to individual needs and build trusting relationships to support confidence and progress.

Roles require safeguarding commitment, strong communication, and the ability to engage students who may have faced barriers in mainstream education. DBS checks and references are expected as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in educational, tutoring or support settings.
• Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Ability to adapt learning/support to individual needs.
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, calm, flexible and supportive approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small-group tuition to primary and/or secondary-aged students.
• Support students across various subjects depending on experience.
• Support students with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Plan engaging, accessible and personalised learning activities.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit different abilities and engagement levels.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
