Job summary

AP Education seeks a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support learners with complex needs in Royston and surrounding areas.

You will provide 2:1 face-to-face support, assist with learning materials for Maths, English and Science, and contribute to progress reporting and multi-agency collaboration.

Term-time hours with guaranteed weekly pay and development through training videos and CPD opportunities, supported by an Education Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting children with SEND/SEMH.
• HLTA certification preferred; two years UK experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face 2:1 support, working with learners from Early Years to KS4.
• Assist preparing learning materials for Maths, English, Science or SEND-specific needs.
• Implement effective behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Write detailed daily/weekly progress reports and liaise with external professionals (SALT, OT, Social Workers).
• Manage daily attendance reporting via attendance software.
• Assist learners in transitioning to mainstream or specialist education settings.
