Job summary

AP Education is seeking dedicated SEND Tutors to deliver 1:1 support in Suffolk and surrounding regions. You will work with learners with SEND/SEMH, including autism and related needs, from Early Years to KS4, delivering Maths, English, Science or SEND-specific interventions.

The role emphasises compassionate, patient teaching, baseline assessments, and reporting, with liaison to external professionals as required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH.
• QTS or HLTA certification preferred; two years of UK experience acceptable without qualifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; compassionate and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face 1:1 support across Early Years to KS4.
• Deliver core subjects or SEND-specific support.
• Apply positive behaviour strategies with patience.
• Assess baseline academics and emotions to target support.
• Prepare progress reports and liaise with SALT/OT/Social Workers.
• Support transition to mainstream or specialist settings.
