Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting a 1:1 SEND/Behaviour Support Assistant to support two Year 6 pupils at a partnered primary school in North Manchester. The role is 1:1 with each pupil throughout the day, requiring flexibility, calmness, and resilience.

The ideal candidate will have experience or transferable skills in SEND/SEMH support, managing challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, and behaviour intervention, plus 1:1 work.

Qualifications

• Experience or transferable skills in SEND and SEMH support.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour.
• Ability to support emotional regulation.
• Experience with behaviour intervention strategies.
• 1:1 support experience with children.
• Youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or related activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and manage frustration.
• Support classroom engagement and access to learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour and clear boundaries.
• Support routines, transitions and expectations.
• Develop pupils' confidence, independence and social skills.
• Help pupils build positive relationships with adults and peers.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and school staff.
• Maintain a consistent and nurturing approach.
