Job summary

Aspire People are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Assistant to provide 1:1 SEND and behaviour support for two Year 6 pupils at a partner primary in North Manchester. The role requires flexibility and confidence in adapting support to each pupil's needs.

Ideal candidates will have experience with SEND/SEMH and a calm, patient approach to promoting positive behaviour and learning engagement throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND and SEMH support.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Emotional regulation techniques.
• Experience in 1:1 support with pupils.
• Experience in youth work or sports coaching is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Helping pupils regulate their emotions and manage frustration.
• Supporting classroom engagement and access to learning.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and appropriate boundaries.
• Supporting routines, transitions and expectations.
• Developing pupils' confidence, independence and social skills.
• Building positive relationships with adults and peers.
• Communicating effectively with teachers and school staff.
• Maintaining a consistent and nurturing approach.
