Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Tutor to provide personalised educational support to children and young people who require additional help to access learning. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher, tutor, Teaching Assistant or education professional who enjoys working on an individual basis and can adapt their approach around the needs of each pupil. The pupils may have SEN, SEMH needs, autism, communication difficulties, behavioural challenges or a history of disengagement from education. About the Role
  • Re-engage with education and develop a positive attitude towards learning
  • Work towards individual academic targets
  • Develop confidence, independence and resilience
  • Improve their literacy and numeracy skills
  • Manage barriers that may prevent them from accessing education
  • Develop positive relationships with adults and their wider support network
  • Prepare for a successful return to school or their next stage of education

Sessions will be adapted around the individual pupil, meaning you will need to be creative, flexible and patient in your approach.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs
  • Strong knowledge of the primary or secondary curriculum
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or personalised support
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour and barriers to learning
  • The ability to adapt lessons to suit individual needs
  • Have access to their own vehicle
  • Previous experience within SEN schools, Alternative Provision, PRUs, tutoring or specialist education settings would be highly desirable.
Why Work as a 1:1 SEN Tutor?

What We Offer
  • £25-£35 per hour, depending on experience
  • Full-time, term-time opportunities
  • 1:1 working with pupils
  • The opportunity to develop your SEN and Alternative Provision experience
