Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking experienced tutors to deliver in-person 1:1 tuition across Northamptonshire for students with EHCPs and additional needs. You will provide personalised tuition in Maths, English, Science and GCSE subjects, tailor lessons to each learner, build positive relationships, and support progress toward individual targets in a flexible 1:1 setting.

Hours vary by student need, starting from 5+ hours per week; position suits patient, adaptable educators who can work

Qualifications

• Proven tutoring or teaching experience with students who have EHCPs or additional needs.
• Strong knowledge of Maths, English, Science or GCSE-level subjects.
• Ability to adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs and build relationships.
• Patient, nurturing and consistent approach with young learners.
• Must have relevant teaching, tutoring, or subject-specific qualifications/experience.
• Experience delivering 1:1 sessions in-person.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 tuition sessions to re-engage students with education.
• Tailor lessons to individual learning needs and targets.
• Cover Maths, English, Science, GCSE and Functional Skills as required.
• Deliver sessions in person across Northamptonshire; 5+ hours per week possible.

Are you an experienced tutor or teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a young person's education?

We are currently looking for 1:1 Tutors across Northamptonshire to provide in-person tuition to students who require additional support with their education. The students will have EHCPs and may have a range of additional needs, so we are looking for patient, adaptable and engaging educators who can build positive relationships and tailor their approach to each individual learner.

The Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will provide personalised tuition sessions, helping students to re-engage with education, build confidence and make progress towards their individual targets.

Depending on the student, tuition may cover subjects including:

• Maths
• English
• Science
• GCSE-level subjects
• Functional Skills
• Other core curriculum subjects

Sessions will be delivered in person, with the number of hours varying depending on the student's needs. Some referrals may require 5+ hours of tuition per week, with potential for additional hours where appropriate.

We're Looking For

The ideal tutor will have:

• Previous teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs/SENA
• Good understanding of the secondary curriculum and/or GCSE subjects
• The ability to adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
• The ability to work independently and provide engaging 1:1 sessions
• Relevant teaching, tutoring or subject-specific qualifications/experience
• Experience working with students with EHCPs, SEMH, ASC, ADHD or other additional needs would be highly beneficial
