Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs in the Greater London area. The role offers long-term and flexible supply starting September 2026.

You will provide personalised support to help the pupil access learning, build independence and reach their potential, working closely with teachers and families.

Experience in SEND or related fields is desirable but not essential; training and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in SEND, education, care, youth work, psychology or similar environments is desirable.
• Experience in 1:1 SEN support is highly valued.
• Commitment to supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Helping pupils access learning and activities.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
• Supporting transitions and changes in routine.
• Adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families.
• Providing personal care support where required.
