Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Swinton invites applications for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to start in January 2026. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, supporting pupils with SEN through 1:1 and targeted interventions.

You will work with class teachers, the SEND team and parents to create an inclusive environment where pupils feel supported and able to thrive. Prior SEN experience and safeguarding training are essential.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
• Patient, adaptable and resilient approach to supporting learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Level 2 Safeguarding qualification or willingness to complete training.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Deliver targeted interventions to support learning, development and progress.
• Work with class teachers to adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Support the implementation and review of IEPs and other support strategies.
• Foster a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, parents and external professionals for best outcomes.
• Adapt resources and approaches to suit different learning styles and abilities.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement with learning.
