Teaching Personnel are recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils at a specialist secondary SEN school in the Didsbury area. The role involves working with students aged 11-19 with physical disabilities, medical needs and communication challenges, within a nurturing multidisciplinary team.

Successful candidates will provide tailored 1:1 support, assist with mobility and communication, and help students access learning and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEN is essential.
• Ability to work 1:1 with a student and adapt to changing needs.
• Awareness of EHCPs and safeguarding expectations is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student across lessons and activities.
• Assist pupils with physical needs and mobility where required.
• Support students with communication difficulties using personalised strategies.
• Encourage independence and participation in classroom learning.
• Work with teaching staff to adapt activities to individual needs.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and safeguarding procedures.
• Assist with personal care where necessary.
• Monitor progress, behaviour and wellbeing, providing feedback to staff.
• Promote positive relationships, self-esteem and confidence, and maintain a safe environment.
