Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with complex needs in Oldbury. The role involves assisting with communication, language development and social engagement within a welcoming primary school.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver differentiated activities, maintain routines and support with personal care where required. A caring, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN and additional needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 with a child in a primary school setting.
• Knowledge of PECS, visual supports, signing systems or AAC is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex needs throughout the school day.
• Support communication, language development and social interaction.
• Implement differenti ated activities to enable access to learning.
• Maintain routines and boundaries; assist with personal care when needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and other professionals.
