Job summary

Hampton Hargate Primary School in Peterborough is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team. The role focuses on supporting a child with additional needs on a 1:1 basis under the KS1 SENCO and Class Teacher, in line with EYFS and KS1 targets.

Experience with ASD and communication difficulties, including TEACCH/Makaton/visual aids, is valued. Lunchtime cover is also part of the role; we offer a welcoming, supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with minimally or non-verbal children with ASD in early years.
• Experience working 1:1 or in small group settings.
• Ability to support Speech & Language development and social skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a child with additional needs in play, learning and discovery in line with EYFS/KS1 targets.
• Provide 1:1 or small group support and assist with lunchtime cover.
• Collaborate with KS1 SENCO and Class Teacher and external advisory services.
