Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3/4 pupil with EHCP needs. The role runs from September and involves working in a mixed Year 3/4 class.

Candidate should have proven SEN experience, especially with ASD/ADHD, and be patient, empathetic and resilient. You will work with the SENCo and class teacher to implement strategies and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN (special educational needs).
• Understanding of social communication and sensory needs.
• Knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for the pupil.
• Support emotional regulation, social communication, and engagement in learning.
• Assist in implementing strategies outlined in the EHCP.
• Collaborate with class teacher and SENCo to adapt KS2 learning activities.
• Create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
• Support with transitions and sensory needs throughout the day.
• Monitor and record progress and provide feedback to staff/parents.
