Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced 1:1 SEN Teacher in Blackpool to provide tailored full-time support to a pupil with SEMH and severe sensory-seeking profiles. You will work with the SENCo and multi-agency teams to deliver an accessible curriculum within a Positive Behaviour Support framework.

The role requires QTS or equivalent SEN teaching experience, a de-escalation qualification, and a strong safeguarding commitment.

Qualifications

QTS or relevant specialist SEN teaching experience.
Experience supporting pupils with complex SEMH or neurodiverse profiles.
Robust knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) methodologies.
A de-escalation qualification (Team-Teach, MAPA/CPI) is advantageous.
A calm, professional safeguarding mindset with high safeguarding standards.
Enhanced DBS registered on Update Service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

Deliver bespoke learning sessions differentiated to meet EHCP targets.
Implement the pupil's BSP and dynamic risk assessments with redirection and safe handling.
Reinforce boundaries and privacy concepts using visual aids and Social Stories.
Apply low-arousal approaches to reduce anxiety and overstimulation.
Follow line-of-sight and intimate care guidelines, maintaining pupil dignity and safeguarding.
Keep objective daily tracking logs of triggers, de-escalation success, and progress.
