Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. in Kirkham (PR4) is seeking an empathetic, proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 3/4 student with additional learning needs. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and pastoral leads to create a calm, structured learning environment.

The role focuses on access to the mainstream curriculum with confidence. This full-time, term-time position offers consistent hours, weekly PAYE pay, and access to accredited CPD courses.

Qualifications

• DBS check required and enhanced DBS with Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Experience supporting young people with SEND in secondary settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication with teenagers.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging classrooms.
• Location in or near Kirkham / Fylde / Preston (PR4).

Responsibilities

• Targeted 1:1 support with an assigned pupil across core and foundation subjects.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour in learning environments.
• Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and social inclusion among peers.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and parents to monitor IEP/EHCP outcomes.
• Assist with transitions between lessons and unstructured parts of the day.
