Job summary

Randstad Education in Godalming is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 7-19 with diverse needs, including autism and NVLD. You will work 1:1, delivering core subject support with an emphasis on communication and independence in a well-resourced school environment.

The role requires Maths and English GCSEs (or equivalent) and a proven track record with SEN. DBS clearance and right to work in the UK are essential; hours are 08:30–16:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent).
• Proven track record working with SEN students.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (enhanced DBS check required).

Responsibilities

• Provide key 1:1 support, encouraging engagement and monitoring student progress.
• Assist delivery of core subjects including PSHE, numeracy, and literacy while building daily living skills.
• Utilise multi-sensory communication techniques (signs, Makaton, symbols) to support non-verbal learners.
• Offer emotional guidance to help manage anxiety and develop self-regulation.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and engage in ongoing professional development.
