Job summary

Protocol Education is currently recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant for a specialist school in South Shields. The role runs full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm on a supply basis, with potential to become permanent and hours shifting to 8:00am–4:00pm if permanent.

You will work closely with a Reception-aged pupil who requires additional support throughout the school day, focusing on building a trusting relationship, keeping the pupil safe, settled and engaged, while staying

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications and training required.
• Experience with SEN, behavioural or complex needs is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Provide consistent support to help the pupil feel safe and engaged.
• Maintain calm, patient and compassionate approach when handling challenging behaviours.
