Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking an SEN Learning Support Assistant for a primary academy near Sutton-on-Sea on the Lincolnshire coast. The role is 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with autism, 8:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday to Friday, term-time only.

The successful candidate will help the pupil access lessons, support communication using visuals and routines, and work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to promote independence and progression toward EHCP outcomes. Starts ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience as a learning support assistant, TA, nursery worker or carer.
• Patience and clear communication with children and adults.
• Availability Tuesday to Friday, term time
• An SEN or TA qualification is welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 learning support for a Year 4 pupil with autism.
• Breaking lessons into short, manageable steps.
• Using visuals and simple, consistent language to support communication.
• Building the pupil's independence with everyday routines.
• Encouraging the pupil to join in with group work and play.
• Recording progress towards EHCP outcomes.
