Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant for a Basildon primary school. This full-time, term-time position offers a supportive environment and the chance to make a real difference in a pupil's learning and wellbeing.

You will work closely with the SENCo and teachers to provide tailored, compassionate support and help the pupil develop socially and academically in a welcoming school community.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school or similar setting.
• Patient, nurturing and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN throughout the school day.
• Help implement strategies set out by SENCo and teaching staff.
• Encourage engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Build a trusting relationship with the child and support emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes.
