Job summary

Teach Now Limited in Camden, London, is seeking an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with autism and significant behavioural needs. The role focuses on helping the pupil manage emotions, stay engaged in learning and make positive progress throughout the school day.

You will work closely with teachers, SEN staff and the pastoral team, following behaviour plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.
• Experience in PRU, alternative provision, SEMH school or SEN setting valued.
• Calm, confident and emotionally resilient; skilled in behaviour management and de‑escalation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Identify triggers and use preventative strategies.
• De‑escalate challenging behaviour and help pupil regulate and return to learning.
• Follow behaviour plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral team.
