Job summary

Teach Now Limited is recruiting a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary special school in Hertfordshire. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support across EYFS to KS2, helping pupils with ASD, speech and language needs and learning difficulties.

The role focuses on fostering independence, supporting transitions, and working closely with teachers and SEN staff to monitor progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience with ASD, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.
  • Calm, caring and consistent when supporting children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1, small-group and classroom support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Supporting pupils with communication, interaction, emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Helping pupils access learning activities and adapting resources where required.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social relationships.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and following individual support or behaviour plans.
  • Helping pupils manage transitions, routines and changes throughout the school day.
  • Supporting the development of communication, life and practical skills.
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to monitor pupil progress.
  • Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
