Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEMH needs at a Stockport PRU on a full-time basis. You will provide tailored 1:1 support, help the pupil engage with learning, regulate emotions and build positive relationships in a structured environment.

The role requires a calm, patient and resilient approach, strong behaviour management, and the ability to work closely with teachers and pastoral staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student.
• Support emotional regulation and help implement behaviour support strategies.
• Encourage engagement in lessons and learning activities.
• Promote inclusion, confidence and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to ensure the pupil's needs are met.
• Prepare resources and adapt activities where required.
• Help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
