Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Farnborough is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and SEN needs in a 4-16 specialist provision.

You will work closely with teachers to support individual learners, help manage emotions, and foster engagement in lessons within small classes. A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service is required or willingness to obtain one; temp role with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH or SEN needs.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach is essential.
• Strong relationship-building and behaviour support skills.
• Experience in schools or specialist settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the pupil’s emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support strategies.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
• Build a positive and consistent relationship with the pupil.
