Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Face-to-Face Primary Tutor to support a pupil in Scarborough, delivering 1:1 tuition across English, Maths and the wider primary curriculum. The role offers 15 hours of tuition per week, with sessions in school, alternative provision, community settings, or the learner's home as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Primary Teacher (QTS preferred) or have substantial tutoring experience, capable of building confidence, tracking

Qualifications

• Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS preferred) or substantial tutoring experience.
• Experience delivering English and Maths to Key Stage 1/2.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to work independently and liaise with schools and support teams.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and wider primary curriculum areas.
• Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to the student's learning needs.
• Support a learner who may have SEN, SEMH needs, or gaps in education.
• Build positive, professional relationships to improve confidence and engagement.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Work independently while liaising with schools, local authorities, and support teams where required.
