Job summary

TP Tutors is seeking experienced Maths and English tutors to support learners across Crawley, Horsham and surrounding areas with Functional Skills.

You will tailor sessions, monitor progress, and maintain clear communication with families and schools. A DBS is required and you must have the right to work in the UK; flexible hours and £25 per hour pay make this a rewarding temporary role.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English.
• Ability to provide Functional Skills tuition.
• Experience supporting learners with a range of educational needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Desirable: QTS/PGCE or equivalent.
• Previous one-to-one tutoring experience.
• Knowledge of SEND and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Experience supporting pupils facing barriers to education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored Maths and/or English tuition aligned with Functional Skills curricula.
• Plan engaging lessons based on individual learning needs and academic targets.
• Adapt teaching approaches and resources to maximise learner engagement and progress.
• Monitor attainment and provide detailed session feedback.
• Maintain professional communication with families, schools, local authorities, and TP Tutors where required.
