Job Title: 1:1 Maths and English Tutor (Hounslow)
Location: Hounslow, London
Contract Type: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Flexible, Part-Time (1-30 hours per week)
Pay Rate: From £25/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

We are seeking a skilled 1:1 Maths and English Tutor to provide personalised support to students in Key Stages 3 to 5 in Hounslow.

About the Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will work closely with students, tailoring lessons to their individual needs and abilities. Your role will involve helping them achieve academic success in Maths and English while building their confidence and love for learning.

Sessions will be conducted in the student’s home or another agreed location, with flexibility to schedule lessons during mornings, afternoons, or evenings. This is a temporary, part-time role offering between 1 and 30 hours per week, depending on your availability and the student’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, one-to-one lessons in Maths and English for students in KS3- 5.
  • Assess students’ progress and adapt teaching methods to support their learning goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback and regular progress updates to parents, carers, or schools.
  • Foster a positive, supportive learning environment to build confidence and motivation.
  • Address specific learning needs, including those of students with SEN (if applicable).

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience with KS3-KS5 students.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A current enhanced DBS check or willingness to undertake one.

Desired Qualities:

  • SEN experience, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
  • A teaching qualification such as QTS or PGCE in Maths or English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic approach with a passion for inspiring students.
