Job summary

Envision Education is currently recruiting 1:1 Learning Support Assistants for schools across High Wycombe. We are looking for caring, patient and reliable individuals who are passionate about supporting children with their learning, confidence and development.

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to an individual pupil, helping them access their learning and develop their confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• No formal Teaching Assistant qualification is required.
• Based in High Wycombe or willing to commute to High Wycombe.
• Availability 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
• Experience with children, young people or vulnerable individuals is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to a pupil throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil with learning and classroom activities.

You don't need to be a qualified Teaching Assistant to apply!

We welcome applications from candidates who have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals. Your previous experience could be highly transferable to a 1:1 support role within a school.

You may have previously worked as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Carer, Youth Worker, Childcare Practitioner, Residential Support Worker, Sports Coach, Mentor, Behaviour Support Worker or in another role where you have provided individual support.

The Role

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to an individual pupil, helping them access their learning and develop their confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing one-to-one support to a pupil throughout the school day

• Supporting the pupil with their learning and classroom activities

• Helping the pupil stay focused, engaged and motivated

• Supporting children with SEND and additional needs

• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive social skills

• Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils manage challenging situations

• Providing emotional and pastoral support where required

• Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of the pupil

• Working closely with teachers and school staff to support the pupil's development

• Helping the pupil achieve their individual learning and developmental goals

• Building a positive, trusting and professional relationship with the pupil

• Helping create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

• No formal Teaching Assistant qualification is required

• Must be based in High Wycombe or willing to commute to High Wycombe

• Available to work 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

• Previous experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals

• A caring, patient and supportive approach

• Confident working with children on a one-to-one basis

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Able to build positive relationships and gain the trust of pupils

• Reliable, professional and committed

• Able to work effectively as part of a team

• Experience supporting individuals with SEND, autism, ADHD, behavioural needs or additional needs is advantageous but not essential

• Previous school experience is desirable but not essential

Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.
