Job summary

Protocol Education is helping a primary school in Downend, South Gloucestershire recruit dedicated Learning Support Assistants to provide 1:1 and small-group support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. The role offers a rewarding chance to help pupils build confidence and engagement, with full-time hours, an immediate start, and access to free CPD and specialist training.

DBS checks and 24 months of references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, care, youth work, or similar setting.
• Passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, reliable, and adaptable.
• Hold an Enhanced Child DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.
• Able to provide 24 months worth of references.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement.
• Supporting children with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Langauge and other SEND.
• Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
