Job summary

Sense Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism at KS2 level, under guidance from the teacher. You will work closely with the class teacher to support both learning and wellbeing, using patience and creativity to nurture confidence and resilience.

The ideal candidate holds a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent and has experience with SEND. A passion for working with children or individuals with disabilities is essential.

Qualifications

• recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a child who has Autism and help them feel safe and ready to learn.
• Support learning and wellbeing in collaboration with the class teacher.
• Assist with emotional regulation and daily routines to build confidence and resilience.
