Job summary

Forsbrook CE Primary School is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 6 on a fixed-term basis from 05.10.2026 to 31.08.2027. The role is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and requires a GCSE pass (Maths and English) or equivalent.

The successful candidate will work with the class teacher to deliver the curriculum, support a child with additional needs, and engage with parents and external support agencies.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Pass level or equivalent is required for TAs.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Experience in supporting children with additional needs is essential.
• Able to work in a team and share responsibilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Y6 pupil with additional needs.
• Assist class teacher in delivering the curriculum.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers and external support services.
• Monitor behaviour and provide social and emotional support.
• Maintain high expectations for pupil attainment.
