Job summary

SAST invites applications for a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant. The role is 14 hours per week, term-time plus inset days, fixed until August 2027. The salary is Grade 5, SCP 5-6, £8,326-£8,458 per annum, with pay adjustments for the academic year and experience. You will support a child in class, promoting inclusion and wellbeing.

You will work 8.30am-12pm on four mornings per week, collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and families to adapt learning strategies and track progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young children, ideally in a primary setting or EYFS.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff, parents, and carers.
• Patience, adaptability and commitment to inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a child in line with individual learning and care needs.
• Support the child’s emotional, social, and academic development in the classroom and during activities.
• Work closely with teaching staff and parents to implement and adapt learning strategies.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with record keeping and observations as required.
