Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Cowick CE Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant 1:1 Level 1 or Level 2 to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named child in Reception. The post is fixed-term until 31 August 2027 and is 28.75 hours per week, term time pro rata.

You will work with class teachers, SEND staff and families to tailor support to the child’s needs; experience in EYFS and SEND, good communication, safeguarding commitment, and a flexible approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Early Years Foundation Stage setting.
• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Willingness to contribute positively to the life and values of the school.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named child in Reception.
• Work closely with class teachers, SEND staff, parents and external professionals to tailor support.
• Support learning, development and well‑being of the child.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
