Job summary

Confidential in Brent is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Autism Support Worker for a mainstream primary school to start immediately. You will work with a pupil with ASC, helping them navigate daily activities, stay engaged with classmates, and complete classwork with targeted support.

Key duties include breaking tasks into simple steps, coaching emotional and social skills, maintaining visual timetables, and collaborating with the Class Teacher and SENCo to track progress against the EHCP.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism (ASC/ASD) or related speech and language needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient with a warm, encouraging approach.
• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt learning materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic support by breaking tasks into manageable steps.
• Support emotional and social development using positive strategies.
• Implement structured routines and visual timetables in class.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCo to monitor progress against EHCP.
