Ribbons & Reeves seeks an Autism Support Assistant in Brentwood for September 2026, offering a hands-on role with children on the autism spectrum, ASC, ADHD and additional learning needs. The role focuses on supporting learning, social and emotional development in a nurturing primary school setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology or a related subject from a UK university.
• Previous child-centred experience or experience supporting children with SEND.
• Genuine passion for supporting autistic children and pupils with additional needs.
• Strong communication skills, patience, empathy and resilience.

Responsabilités

• Supporting primary school children with autism, ASC, ADHD, and additional learning needs.
• Working as an Autism Support Assistant on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Supporting the SENDCo, class teachers, and external SEND professionals.
• Helping to create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, communication, social interaction, and independence.
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and individual learning strategies.
