Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ASD in a Portishead primary school. The role is full-time, term-time only, with an immediate start and long-term potential.

You will work 1:1 with the pupil, help develop communication, social and emotional skills, and liaise with teachers, parents and external professionals to tailor learning activities and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD in an educational setting.
• Ability to tailor activities to individual learning needs.
• Commitment to inclusion and pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil within the classroom and during school activities.
• Develop communication, social interaction and emotional regulation skills.
• Implement individual support plans and targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENDCo, parents and external professionals.
