Qteg in London is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a warm, inclusive primary school in Lambeth. You will work 1:1 with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is non-verbal, providing targeted support throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with autism, knowledge of PECS or visual communication strategies, and a patient, nurturing approach to help the child access learning activities and classroom routines while promoting

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with autism and communication difficulties.
• Experience using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of visual timetables and communication aids to support non-verbal children.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 tailored support to a child with ASD during the school day.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship to support communication and emotional regulation.
• Help the child access learning activities and classroom routines.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and school team to implement individualised strategies.
• Encourage independence and ensure the child feels safe, understood and included.
