Job summary

Career Teachers is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a welcoming Tower Hamlets primary school. The role is term-time only with a daily pay of £95–£105, Monday to Friday.

You will help the pupil access learning, foster positive relationships, and support emotional regulation throughout the school day. The pupil enjoys football and receives up to two hours of football coaching during the day, contributing to engagement

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
• Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient, and able to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development.
• Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and positively.
• Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
• Encourage engagement in learning and help manage transitions throughout the day.
