Job summary

Quantum Scholars invites applications for an Alternative Provision Tutor in Hayes and surrounding areas. The role provides 1:1 tuition to learners who may have SEND/SEMH or other barriers to education, in home or community settings during school hours.

You will support students with ASC, ADHD, anxiety and other needs, building trust and adapting sessions to each learner. Prior tutoring or teaching experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, tutoring or supporting children and young people.
• Experience working with learners with SEND/SEMH or additional needs.
• Able to engage learners who are disengaged from mainstream education.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work 1:1 and independently.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition.
• Support learners across core subjects including English, Maths, Science and other curriculum areas.
• Plan and adapt sessions according to each learner's needs and interests.
• Help learners overcome barriers to education and develop positive attitudes towards learning.
• Build confidence, resilience, independence and self-esteem.
• Establish positive and consistent relationships with learners.
• Provide encouragement and pastoral support where appropriate.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Work flexibly during school hours, Monday to Friday.
• Deliver tuition in learners' homes or community settings.
