Job summary

Walliscote Primary School in Weston-Super-Mare is seeking an Assistant Headteacher to lead our SEND and inclusion agenda. The role is 0.8 FTE, permanent, and part-time term-time with a leadership focus on vulnerable learners and EAL.

The successful candidate will join our senior leadership team, drive strategies for SEND, inclusion and safeguarding, and work closely with families and external partners to ensure every child thrives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of SEND leadership and inclusion.
• Outstanding leadership of inclusive practice in a school setting.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND, EAL and Children in Care.
• Lead and develop inclusive practice across the school.
• Support staff in meeting the needs of a diverse range of learners.
• Work closely with families, external agencies and trust colleagues.
• Be a key member of the senior leadership team, shaping the school's direction.
• Ensure all pupils, especially the most vulnerable, achieve success and belonging.
