The ESRF in Grenoble, France, is seeking an X-ray Optics Manufacturing Technician to join the X-ray Optics Group and contribute to the manufacture of high‑precision crystal analysers used in advanced X-ray instrumentation.

You will operate, calibrate and maintain manufacturing equipment, manage materials, document activities, and support process improvements. A BSc/HND/BTS/DUT or equivalent in physics, materials science, chemistry or related field is required, and recent graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical work and practical problem solving.
• Excellent manual dexterity and meticulousness.
• Organised, methodical and able to work in a team.
• Fluent in English; strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Manufacture crystal analysers and X-ray optical components.
• Operate, maintain and calibrate manufacturing equipment.
• Measure surface topography of optical components.
• Work in a clean-room environment and handle high-value parts.
• Manage stocks of raw materials and consumables.
• Document manufacturing activities and maintain records.
• Contribute to process improvements and new methods.
• Support other group activities as required.
