The ESRF, Europe’s premier synchrotron radiation facility based in Grenoble, is seeking an X-ray Optics Manufacturing Technician. You will join a small, specialised team to manufacture high-precision crystal analysers and related components for advanced X-ray instrumentation.

You will operate and calibrate manufacturing equipment, document activities and contribute to process improvements. Recent graduates and early-career technicians are encouraged to apply, with opportunities for relocation

Qualifications

• Technician qualification (BSc, HND, BTS, DUT or equivalent) in physics, materials science, chemistry, microelectronics or a related field.
• Hands-on technical work is essential.
• Attention to detail and good teamwork are required.
• English communication is expected.

Responsabilités

• Manufacturing crystal analysers and other X-ray optical components.
• Operating, maintaining and calibrating manufacturing equipment.
• Measuring surface topography of optical components.
• Working in a clean-room environment following established procedures.
• Handling high-value, fragile optical components with care.
• Managing stocks of raw materials and consumables.
• Documenting manufacturing activities and maintaining technical records.
• Contributing to process improvements and development of new methods.
• Supporting other activities within the X-ray Optics Group when required.
