SMBC Group EMEA in Frankfurt is seeking a Credit Analyst (Vice President) to join the Credit Department. You will independently assess and manage credit risk across corporate, leveraged, project, FI and structured finance exposures, contributing to senior credit decisions and the risk framework.

The role involves preparing clear credit recommendations for the Executive Board, conducting periodic reviews, developing credit policies, and partnering with Front Office, Treasury and Finance to ensure

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in credit analysis or risk management.
• Strong knowledge of corporate credit analysis and banking products.
• Understanding of EBA, ECB, KWG and MaRisk regulations.
• Degree-level education in Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• Fluency in English; German a plus.

Responsabilités

• Independently analyse credit applications across corporate lending, LBO, Project Finance and structured finance.
• Prepare clear, well-reasoned credit recommendations for Executive Board or delegated authority.
• Plan and conduct periodic credit reviews while monitoring portfolio performance and risks.
• Identify and escalate material credit matters to governance forums and risk committees.
• Support development and maintenance of credit policies and risk management frameworks.
• Partner with Front Office, Treasury, Finance and other Credit teams to ensure effective risk management.
