Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in France seeks an experienced Valuation Controller to join Valuations Analytics & Reporting within Global Product Control, focusing on Private and Less-Liquid Markets. You will support valuation methodologies and governance across private equity and private credit, acting as SME for local and international teams.

The role requires strong IFRS valuation knowledge, governance discipline, and the ability to influence across locations. English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valuation control experience in Private & Less-Liquid Markets.
• IFRS knowledge applied to valuation context.
• Ability to apply judgement on valuation adjustments within governance.
• Experience in a matrix environment with cross-location influence.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including audit/regulator interaction.
• Interest in standardisation, tooling and reporting improvements (digital/automation).
• English required; French preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support valuation methodologies and models for Fair Value and Prudent Value for Private Equity and Private Credit.
• Operate a robust control environment with sound judgement on valuation adjustments.
• Ensure HBCE practices align with Group methodology, policies and governance.
• Act as HBCE SME for Private Markets valuation and support Krakow and Bangalore teams.
• Coordinate priorities, provide guidance, review drivers/outputs, ensure timely audit trail.
• Contribute to global change initiatives, remediation and efficiency opportunities.
• Support engagement with Internal Audit, PwC and regulators on valuation topics with clear analyses.
