The European Synchrotron (ESRF) in Grenoble seeks a Beamline Scientist for ID09 to operate, develop and support time-resolved X-ray experiments. You will work with visiting researchers to enable breakthrough science and contribute to the instrument's ongoing upgrades in a collaborative, international environment.

The role emphasizes autonomy, leadership, and the ability to manage a research program while collaborating with a diverse user community.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics or a related field.
  • Expertise in instrumentation and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in the use of ultrafast lasers.
  • Hands-on experience with time-resolved X-ray diffraction or solution scattering experiments.
  • Proven track record of significant research achievements, demonstrated through high-quality publications.

Responsabilités

  • Operate and develop the ID09 beamline in operation, exploitation and development.
  • Support visiting researchers and enable breakthrough experiments.
  • Contribute to the broader X-ray diffraction and scattering group activities.
  • Co-responsible for continuous technical upgrading of the instrument and strategic development.
