Job summary

ESRF in Grenoble seeks a motivated scientist to join ID01, a world-leading beamline for micro-/nano-beam diffraction imaging experiments. You will explore ID01’s capabilities, drive developments, and collaborate with international experts in a dynamic, high-brilliance environment.

You will manage in-situ experiments, support external users, publish results in peer-reviewed venues, and contribute to cutting-edge imaging techniques at time scales down to 100 ps.

Qualifications

• PhD in STEM field with several years of postdoctoral experience in physics, chemistry or closely related fields.
• Experience with X-ray (coherent) diffraction or related techniques is desirable.
• Background in scientific programming is an important asset.
• Strong experimental research background in scattering/diffraction techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research and develop your in-house project within ID01.
• Support external users (academic and industrial) in beamline experiments.
• Drive technical developments and upgrade beamline instrumentation.
• Collaborate with international experts in a multidisciplinary team.
• Present and publish findings at conferences, workshops and journals.
