Job summary

Energy Jobline ATTB is seeking a Thermal Structural Engineer to support the design, analysis and development of advanced microreactor systems. This role offers technical ownership across thermal, structural, and computational analysis activities within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with heat transfer, thermodynamics, and FEA using ANSYS, COMSOL or Abaqus, and can document results through calculations and presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a core engineering field is required; Master’s degree acceptable with flexibility on years of experience.
• 5+ years of engineering experience are required.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mechanics of materials.
• Experience with thermal-fluid systems and structural analysis in complex engineering systems.
• Proven computational analysis and engineering simulation experience.
• Experience with ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus, or similar tools.
• Proficiency with MATLAB or Python is valuable for analysis and scripting.
• Clear written communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Nuclear experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal and structural analyses supporting microreactor system design and development.
• Conduct heat transfer, thermal stress, fluid mechanics, and mechanical performance evaluations.
• Develop analyses using ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus, or equivalent FE packages.
• Support computational modeling, finite element analysis, and design optimization.
• Evaluate components under steady-state, transient, and accident conditions.
• Lead design verification and material selection discussions as experience grows.
• Prepare calculations, reports, and technical presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with nuclear, mechanical, materials, and licensing teams.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and problem-solving efforts.
• Apply ASME codes and industry standards to safe reactor designs.
• Senior engineers may assume ownership and mentoring roles.
