Job summary

Infinite Orbits is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead thermal design, analysis, and verification for spacecraft, payloads, and avionics. You will own the thermal subsystem architecture, modelling, and validation, ensuring thermal control under diverse operating conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in thermal engineering, ideally in space/aerospace.
• Proficiency with thermal simulation software and spacecraft/high-rel electronics thermal design.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal design from concept through delivery for spacecraft, payloads, electronics, or mechanical systems.
• Develop thermal control using passive and active solutions.
• Perform thermal modeling and simulation with industry-standard tools.
• Define and manage thermal requirements based on mission needs and constraints.
• Develop thermal models at component and system levels; ensure interfaces between subsystems.
• Develop and execute thermal test plans including balance, TVAC, bakeout, and cycling.
• Prepare thermal design reports and support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
